I guess I failed with the title, as it ended up being long as hell anyways. Anyways, If you’re desperately wondering what this post is about, it’s about the song:
Oceanlab vs. Mike Shiver – If I Could Fly On The Surface (Alex M.O.R.P.H. remix) [Daniel Kandi Mashup] [Anjunabeats] (ANJ-157D) ![]()
Normally, we’re not huge into vocal trance, but this song is really amazing, and one of the few mashups to ever be released on a record label as big as Anjunabeats. Some people are speculating that Anjunabeats is suffering and getting desperate for releases, but I guess those people haven’t noticed the amount and quality of tunes coming out from them lately, including this one.
So what exactly does “That Dude vs. This Dude (remixed by this dude) [wait, cause now it's mashed up by this guy!]” mean?
Mike Shiver originally came out with this song “On The Surface” on Captured Music (CAPTURED020) in October of 2009, with the Original Mix, and the Alex M.O.R.P.H. remix.
A year earlier, Oceanlab released their only studio release at the time: “Sirens of the Sea” album (UL 1714). A beautiful lyrical (this song) song called “If I Could Fly” was included.
Daniel Kandi came along, took both songs, and mashed them together. And now you get, “If I Could Fly On The Surface”. Truely a beautiful trance song, and we think a mashup worthy of it’s own release. 4/5 Stars
